Functionality
The use of proper treatment cuffs is critical to the success of compression therapy.
The right cuff
- Should be adjusted to the leg or arm circumference
- must be sufficiently long
- with lymphedema and lipedema (which involve the entire leg or extend above the iliac crest), the cuff should enclose the pelvic area. In these patients, compression pants are the best option.
Additional stimulation in the groin, abdomen and pelvic area will improve decongestion.
Options:
Arm/shoulder cuff
12 rooms
Leg Cuff
12 rooms
Compression pants
Compression jacket
Recommended device settings for therapy with intermittent compression
The parameters listed here are manufacturer's recommendations. The use of appropriate treatment cuffs is critical to the success of compression therapy.
Patients with venous disease, for example, chronic venous insufficiency:
- Start with a low pressure (20-30 mmHg) and slowly increase, depending on your well-being, to about 40-50 mmHg
- Therapy time should be started with about 15 min and increased depending on tolerance (to about 20-30 min).
- The frequency of therapy should ideally be 3 times/day
Patients with lymphedema, lipedema, mixed forms of edema, post-thrombotic syndrome and leg ulcers:
- Start with a low pressure (20-30 mmHg) and slowly increase, depending on your well-being, to about 40-50 mmHg
- Start the therapy time with about 15 min and increase it to about 30-45 min depending on your tolerance
- The frequency of therapy should ideally be 3 times/day
The basic rule is:
If pain occurs during treatment, therapy should be stopped immediately and a doctor should be consulted.
Technical data:
Drukbereik: 15 tot 80 mmHg
Duur van de behandeling: 15 tot 60 min.
Ventilatie: 10 tot 120 sec.
(The aeration and venting times each apply to one cycle)
