What is erectile dysfunction?
Erectile dysfunction (ED) means that the erection of the male penis is completely absent, can only be maintained for a short time, or is not strong enough to have sexual intercourse.
If any of the situations described above last longer than 4-6 months, it is called erectile dysfunction.
For a long time it was believed that most erectile dysfunction has purely psychological causes. Today it is known that more than 2/3 of the diseases are caused by physical factors such as age, diabetes mellitus, arteriosclerosis and vascular anomalies. For example, one in three men in the 60-70 age group is affected. Experts assume that a much larger number of people are affected, as this issue is still treated with much shame.
